“Sometimes in order to be happy in the present moment you have to be willing to give up all hope for a better past.” - Robert Holden.

I received the call from Hummingbird years ago, during my years at University.  However, my own heroine's journey, spanning almost 20 years, took me through the successes, obstacles, failures and redemptions experienced during my practice and instruction of U.S. employment law as well as English & World Religion,  leadership of non profit organizations, launching an organizational consulting practice, as well as working in the fields of chaplaincy and education.  It was journey replete with awards, publications, media presence and attention as well as unforeseen losses and betrayals.

All the while, the call from Hummingbird was relentless: my nectar lay in the devotion of my own healing and wholeness and that of others.  While I did such, perhaps surreptiously, under the helms under official titles, positions and personas, my unofficial work included many years of offering spiritual, psychological and emotional guidance to others (individuals, groups and organizations)  - an outgrowth of my own tenacious work in healing familial, ancestral, cultural, regional, professional, national and other such wounding.  I thank the many who served as guides, teachers and supports during that process.

My journey of healing, self actualization & reclamation  and discerning Hummingbird's call took me to places & regions such as the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, South America, the Middle East, Canada, Western Europe as well as throughout the United States.  Throughout my travels I learned a great deal about humanity and its diversity and commanalities - as expressed through culture and psychospiritual orientations - as well as about myself. These experiences proved invaluable to my inner work and my service to others.

Upon approaching my fourth (4th) decade on this planet, I could no longer resist the call from Hummingbird.  In a cross country move peppered with angst, anxiety, uncertainty and yet, deep calling, I enrolled at a premiere institution to get a degree in Religion and Psychology with an emphasis in Interreligous Engagement/Spiritual Pluralism, Organizational Psychology, as well as Social Justice. This experience proved to be a confirmation of my past 20 years of work - healing, spiritually seeking and being in service to others - cementing my response to the hummingbird's call.

It was a returning.    A  re-membering.

To that end, I have published, spoken and assisted many in this area of healing and wholeness.  I have presented my work at the American Academy of Religion (AAR) for two years; served as a Henry Luce Fellow living in Indonesia, publishing on my work there; preached and spoken at various spiritual and religious gatherings, meetings, organizations (e.g. churches, gatherings, etc).

Also, I was fortunate to be accepted in a prestigious program to intern as a Chaplain at a renowned hospital in New York City. There I specialized  in pediatrics, workplace personnel
and neurology chaplaincy wherein I provided spiritual and emotional support to more than 800 patients and their families as well as hospital staff.  I have also been able to integrate my knowledge, skills and abilities drawn from my years of professional experience in the areas of diversity & inclusion, social identity (race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation disabilities, etc), group conflict resolution, and change management among others.

Finally, I offer my gifts and talents to those for whom spiritual practice and a spiritual perspective is paramount or integral to navigating and understanding their human experience.  Those who have found such helpful span the spiritual continuum of the deeply religous to the deeply atheistic.  Moreover, I am a mystic, and use many spiritual means to assist individuals including intuitive and spiritual giftings.

To that end, I am delighted to have answered the Hummingbird call which has required me to make official what I have been doing for the past 20 years!!!   As Hummingbird represents, I have experienced more joy and delight now that I have surrendered. :-)

I am excited to be of service and to support to those who  want to know where their nectar is and how to pursue it.

Peace, Blessings and to the Pursuit of Joy-

To your success!
